What does 'Stay at Home Mom' mean?

Answer: We are forming stable, secure, and self confident adults to shape the future of our world.

We are home based business partners who take pride in being home with our children as well as producing quality, handmade products.

Cuddle Baby began in 1998 by two families determined to help make breastfeeding a more accepted practice. By doing so, we also realized how much more enjoyable it could be with the help of slings and nursing clothes. This eventually led to the design of a few of our own nursing tops as well as the use of patterns by Elizabeth Lee Designs.

With both of us having one toddler and one baby apiece, it became necessary to come up with a more efficient way of diapering our children. We had been accustomed to using regular flat fold diapers; washing, hanging to dry, and folding. The task seemed endless. However, for our children with sensitive skin (and running our household on a budget), disposables were not an option for full time use. After months of designing, reworking the fit, testing various fabrics and closure options, we were able to introduce our very own line of diapers. They are much easier to use (even for the Dads) and faster, too!

We are continuing to add new products and to update designs as our customers suggest them. We strive to send out quality, handmade merchandise in an efficient yet timely manner while still spending the time we need with our families. Our husbands are very supportive of our venture as well as our values, and that makes all the difference in our lives. They are always there to offer encouragement, advice, occupy the children when we need to spend quality time with our machines :-), and they even help us cut out fabric.

Our children are just as involved in our projects. They help to choose fabrics and matching threads. While we sew, they play nearby with scraps of fabric and spools. They even volunteer to thread up and clean the machines at every chance. How is this good? They are learning shapes, colors, various textures and weaves of fabric. They learn how machines work and how to use various tools to create a masterpiece. They learn structure - each item has to be put together in a certain order for it to work. They learn hand - eye coordination, the importance of organization, and cleaning up after each project. They learn how to help. Every child wants to feel needed. We give them that opportunity each time we sit down to work. They play the most important role of all!

Although this business was started with the idea to support our hobbies and to provide beautiful handmade products to other mothers and children, this is definitely a family operated business! We would like to thank you all for taking the time to visit our site and for your patronage to our business.
